Please be aware that Charon's download links no longer work, nor do the original links direct from EXOPC as we have changed some internals at the EXOU.com webserver. The files continue to be hosted at http://exocommunity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=3663 (including the updated CrystalHD drivers mentioned above) and all of the related links on the now-closed EXOPC forums have been adjusted to comply with the new webserver filesystem.

    Need Dock Driver

Post by flyred77 on Sat May 18, 2013 4:05 pm

    Hi,

I just purchased an ExoPC Dock, but the USB is not passing through. I believe I need to install the Dock Driver. Where can I get a copy of the most recent Dock Driver. I have downloaded all the drivers from here: ciaravibe (dot)com/vibe-support-en (dot)html, but I do not see a dock driver. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Virtually all bluray playback drivers are proprietary. You have to purchase a software product to get bluray playback to work. The one exception is VideoLan's VLC. This freeware will enable a bluray player to work with bluray movies. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

Are there any new links for the exopc drivers? exocommunity is no more and I'd like to get a copy of them.

Edit: I found the support page for the Vibe and got the files from there. Are there any differences between the Vibe files and the ones from exopc?

Also are there updated files that would be better for Win8.1?

I was wondering what was the last BIOS update for the ExoPC. I was looking at an ExoPC that I have (with a cracked screen). It had BIOS version 131 (I think), and I saw that I had version 133 that I got from somewhere, maybe the WeTab forum. This version has EC firmware 919 included. Everything seems to work ok after flashing the new BIOS, but the ExoPC boot screen is now gone. I has been replaced by one with a large, stylist word "logo"!

I know that the Ciara Vibe BIOS can still be downloaded, and it has EC 918 in it:

I can't find a version anywhere to download.

I tried the ciara vibe version, and that gives me the vibe boot screen. Since the ExoPC seems to be considered the best of this class of tablets, I just wanted to get the last ExoPC version.

I can create a backup of the existing BIOS, so I did that from my non-damaged tablet. I then flashed it to the one with the cracked screen, and it worked fine.

I see the BIOS version on the ExoPC is this:

    Lucid-CE-0133

The versions that I have are these:

    Lucid-VIBE-0133
    Lucid-GE-0133

For anyone trying to backup the ExoPC BIOS:

The program AFUDOS is run from USB or SD card formatted in DOS. I initially used a BIOS stick downloaded as an image file from the WeTab Wiki. That can flash and backup the BIOS. I also have a BIOS flashing SD card that I made myself. Running AFUDOS from that gave me an error of the BIOS being write-protected.

It turns out the version giving me the error is a newer version of AFUDOS (4.40), The one that works is version 2.28.
